- Investments in state-of-the-art technology pay off
- More advantageous contracts through cooperation with new electricity suppliers
- Awarded BREEAM certificate for sustainable buildings
- P&P Group is the developer, owner and operator of the FLAiR
Fürth/Nuremberg, 23. October 2023 - For the urban experience center FLAiR Fürth, the P&P Group as owner and operator reports an impressive halving of energy costs compared to 2022. This significant reduction is made possible by investments in state-of-the-art energy-saving technology combined with sustainable behavioral changes and the adjustment of electricity supplier contracts.
A central point of the energy efficiency concept is the combined heat and power plant installed in the FLAiR, which shines with above-average performance parameters. It consumes significantly less primary energy than conventional power plants and thus contributes to significant fuel savings. At the same time, it reduces CO2-Ausstoß erheblich.
In addition, FLAiR relies on three state-of-the-art chillers with heat recovery, which make a considerable contribution to energy savings. The tenants in the center also contribute significantly to the savings through their sustainable behavior. The P&P Group also achieved optimized conditions by revising existing electricity contracts and cooperating with new suppliers, which enabled further cost savings.
Furthermore, the FLAiR Fürth is BREEAM certified, with the top rating "Excellent". The more stars of excellence, the higher the building's progress towards more sustainable standards. The internationally renowned seal of approval for sustainable buildings is awarded in Germany by TÜV Süd. The criteria of this certificate cover various aspects, including energy, water, waste and transportation, in order to continuously improve the sustainability performance of existing buildings.
For the P&P Group, which is not only the owner and operator of FLAiR Fürth but also remodeled and modernized the building after the complete takeover in 2017, it is of high importance to support the tenants and, for example, to permanently optimize cost-intensive areas such as energy consumption. The costs saved in this way can be invested by the tenants, for example, in targeted customer loyalty campaigns, allowing them to concentrate on their core business.
Eva-Maria Zurek, CEO of P&P Group, explains the objective in this area: "FLAiR Fürth and its partners will continue to work on increasing energy efficiency and making continuous progress in this essential area. In general, the P&P Group strives for the continuous optimization of all ESG criteria and thus sustainable corporate governance for all properties."
